International conference “More than just learning” got a record amount of participants
On October 26 Sberbank CU hosted the 3rd international conference “More than just learning”. The conference was organized by the Corporate University together with EFMD and Sberbank Charity Foundation “Investment in the Future”. This year the main topic was the development of digital skills.
Over 700 people participated in the conference. Among them were the representatives of the Russian and international companies – experts in the fields of L&D. Michael D. King, Vice president of IBM Global Education Industry, Elena Shmeleva, Head of "Talent & Success" foundation, Alexander Kuleshov, Skoltech President - these are some of the speakers who took the stage at the conference.
“Our conference has become one of the leading Russian platforms to stage the discussions of the global problems in the field of corporate learning and enable the participants to share the best world practices to solve these problems”, - said Valery Katkalo, Dean of the Corporate University. “What makes the conference unique is the combination of the guests – the top-managers of HR and L&D departments of the leading Russian and international companies discuss the current problems of developing professionals with the leaders of the top universities, school directors and experts in the field of learning and edutech startup founders”, - he added.
The participants discussed the global challenges of digital skills development, the competency models for the digital economy in the context of lifelong learning, the new role of instructors in teaching digital skills, the training of IT professionals in new digital technologies, advanced learning techniques, and the evolving balance of digital, professional and soft skills in the process of learning.
The Chairman of the Sberbank Executive board, Herman Gref said that every instructor, as well as every Bank employee, needs to face new challenges. “It is crucial that instructors leave their comfort zones because they need to face their fears. Otherwise, they can not grow. In our team we always do this, because if you do not set new challenging tasks for the employees, you risk losing them”, - he said.
